Let the CUPCAKE Wars begin!
Students will first learn the proper techniques to creating tasty & delicious flavored cupcakes, and then how to decorate them like a professional. In baking teams, the kids will be challenged to bake and decorate like a pro baker. We will explore how to use a pastry bag, and how to make chocolate decorations to top off the mini cakes! Cupcake flavors, will be Vanilla, Mint Chip and Red Velvet. Each team will submit a cupcake in each of the following categories, to be judged, and everyone is a winner! - Best flavor-Most Unique Presentation- Best Technique -Surprise Category- to be determined
Pumpkin Waffles
We start with a local sugar pumpkin, then roast it and its seeds. We use the pumpkin to mix up our secret waffle recipe, cook and eat it with fruit topping, toasted seeds, and hand whipped cream, or fresh churned maple syrup Ice cream. This class is available only as long as the Local Sugar Pumpkins are, which is usually mid December!
Pasta Party 101
Ever wondered how the professionals make handmade pasta and cheese-filled ravioli? Come learn how they get that great filling inside a ravioli. Have you ever heard of lemon pasta, or black pepper noodles? We will knead and roll out our own pasta, and make homemade ravioli to sample in class. In addition students will each take a box of ravioli home to cook in their home kitchen.
Breakfast for Dinner
Homemade banana and berries pancakes, served with your own homemade hbutter, and fresh squeezed Orange juice. Learn to make an egg, Fried, sunny side up, over easy, or an egg in a basket! Pick up some kitchen knife skills cutting up our own fruit salad, and then sit down to a breakfast Buffet for dinner!
Farmers Market Pizza & Chocolate Dipped Fruit
We begin by making a yeasted dough and watch it grow and come alive! We work on our knife skills to cut up ingredients for our pizzas. We have an assortment of flavors for students to choose from: Veggies, sausage and cheese. What about a white pizza? We play around with sauces and topping and each pizza is an individual creation! We finish out the meal making chocolate dipped fruit.
